Risk Disclosure
Safe Growth is not an unleveraged book: it holds TMF (3x long Treasuries) and NUGT (2x gold miners). Leveraged ETFs reset daily and can lose value over time even when the underlying index is flat or higher. MSTR carries leverage and direct bitcoin exposure. This is our model book, shared for transparency — it is not individualized investment advice, and position sizing reflects our risk tolerance, not yours. Every performance figure on this page is an actual, live result measured from the Jan 22, 2026 entry. Apr–Jun monthly cells are as-published marks; a close-basis restatement is pending the anchor review. Our published daily archive begins 15 April 2026; Jan–Mar 2026 monthly cells are estimated partial-period returns (marked *) carried from our May 2026 updates, shown as estimates rather than as-published daily marks. We show no backtested or hypothetical returns. Units are price-return; dividends are not accrued. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Data claims are dated as of publication.
Safe Growth is down about 3% this morning to $1,673 a unit as the AI unwind finally pulled the broader risk complex lower. This is not an oil-war move. Oil is not the driver today. The pressure is coming from semiconductors, leverage, and the question the market is now asking after Google: AI demand is real, but who funds the bill and how much forced selling sits behind the trade?
The semiconductor index is getting hit because the unwind turned global overnight. SK Hynix closed down 14.65% and Samsung fell more than 13% in Korea; Japanese chip names like Tokyo Electron and Advantest were down more than 10%; Taiwan Semi also slipped. CNBC tied the move to high-bandwidth-memory exposure, hyperscaler-spending anxiety, China chip-equipment headlines, and levered ETF products magnifying the swings.
That matters for SG because NVDA and MSTR are in the book, and the forced semi/growth selloff is also dragging ETN, URA, and NUGT today. The best-light read is that this is a gross-down, not a thesis failure. Google did not prove weak AI demand; it proved enormous AI demand with an enormous capex bill. Markets are repricing the funding mechanism first, and diversified books absorb that while the crowded leverage stack clears.
No trades in Safe Growth today. We are keeping the book intact, watching Thursday's Amazon earnings and Friday's reaction, and staying ready. If Amazon shows AWS growth, AI capex discipline, and no fresh free-cash-flow shock, this unwind can turn into a better entry window across the AI/semiconductor complex. If Amazon fails the test, the cash in High Risk becomes even more valuable.
