Safe Growth rose about 1.8% on Wednesday, its strongest day this week, as a broad bid into hard assets lifted nine of the ten sleeves. After Monday's bounce and a flat Tuesday, this was the book pushing forward rather than just holding ground.
The commodity sleeves did the work. NUGT, our leveraged gold-miner position, was the clear standout as gold and the precious-metals miners rallied hard. URA gained close to 5% on strength in uranium, XLE added nearly 2% as energy firmed, and PPA and EWW each rose around 2%. When metals and energy run together like this, a diversified sleeve set earns its keep.
The anchors were quiet and that is fine. ETN held its ground and still sits about 22% above our January 22 entry, the steadiest line in the book. MSTR and NVDA were roughly flat after Monday's pop. TMF managed a small gain even with the Fed's July 28-29 meeting a week away and no cuts priced into the curve; we hold it as insurance, not a rate call.
No trades. The book is now roughly flat on the month and about 10% below the January entry, having clawed most of last week's washout back. We would rather let a broad commodity day do the lifting than trade around a single strong session.
