▲ Current month through today; return measured from the Jan 22, 2026 entry. Monthly figures are shown only for months we tracked and published daily — our daily archive begins 15 April 2026, so Jan–Mar are marked — rather than estimated. Apr–Jun cells are as-published marks; close-basis restatement pending the anchor review. No backtests, no hypotheticals, no filled-in gaps. Units are price-return; dividends are not accrued.
Risk Disclosure
Safe Growth is not an unleveraged book: it holds TMF (3x long Treasuries) and NUGT (2x gold miners). Leveraged ETFs reset daily and can lose value over time even when the underlying index is flat or higher. MSTR carries leverage and direct bitcoin exposure. This is our model book, shared for transparency — it is not individualized investment advice, and position sizing reflects our risk tolerance, not yours. Every performance figure on this page is an actual, live result measured from the Jan 22, 2026 entry. Apr–Jun monthly cells are as-published marks; a close-basis restatement is pending the anchor review. Our published daily archive begins 15 April 2026; for months before that we show no monthly figure rather than an estimate. We show no backtested or hypothetical returns. Units are price-return; dividends are not accrued. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Data claims are dated as of publication.
Two inflation prints landed in two days and both looked soft. June CPI, released Tuesday, fell 0.4% on the month. June PPI, released this morning, fell 0.3%, its first decline since August 2025. Read the year-over-year lines before celebrating. CPI is still running 3.5%, headline PPI 5.5%, and core PPI 4.7%, nearly double core CPI at 2.6%. That is disinflation at the margin, not low inflation.
Both soft months came almost entirely from energy giving back a spike. Gasoline fell 9.7% in June after rising 7.0% the month before. That window has already closed. The Iran truce collapsed on July 8, the IRGC declared the Strait of Hormuz shut again on July 12, and Brent settled at $85.92, a one-month high and up 19% since late February. July CPI, out in mid-August, likely re-accelerates on energy.
So these prints took a July hike off the table. They did not signal cuts. Futures price an 86% hold on July 29 and a 53% hike in September, with 76.5% odds of zero cuts across all of 2026.
For this book that cuts both ways. XLE, at 9.8% of the unit, is on the right side of oil at a one-month high. TMF is not. Three times long Treasuries needs actual cuts, and the market is pricing the opposite, which is why it stays on WATCH into the July 29 FOMC rather than getting the benefit of a soft headline it did not earn.
