▲ Current month through today. YTD from Jan 22, 2026 entry.
Safe Growth edged up 0.3% today to $1,727 a unit, measured open to open against yesterday's update. That trims the July loss to 0.6% and leaves the book about 10.1% under our January 22 entry. It was a quiet, two-sided session that mostly held Thursday's bounce, with strength in the tech and crypto-linked names offsetting softness in the defense and infrastructure core.
MSTR led the book, up 2.8% alongside firmer bitcoin, with NVDA adding 2.1% and URA 1.6% as uranium extended its recovery. INDA, XLE and TMF were little changed. The soft spots were on the defensive side: PPA slipped 1.0%, ETN eased 0.7%, EWW gave back 0.6% and NUGT dipped 0.6% as gold cooled after Thursday's pop. The moves were modest in both directions, which is why the book barely budged.
No trades. This is the balance the book is built for. XLE and URA carry the energy and commodity hedge, NUGT is our gold ballast, ETN and PPA anchor the infrastructure and defense core, and NVDA and MSTR keep us tied to AI and bitcoin. On a mixed day the growth side did the work while the defensive sleeve rested. That two-way behavior is the point of the spread. Holding the full slate.
