▲ Current month through today. YTD from Jan 22, 2026 entry.
Safe Growth rose 1.6% today to $1,723 a unit, measured open to open against yesterday's update. That trims the July loss to 0.9% and leaves the book about 10.3% under our January 22 entry. After Wednesday's Strait of Hormuz selloff, the tape steadied and buyers stepped back into the areas that had been hit hardest, so most of yesterday's damage was recovered in a single session.
The bounce was broad. NUGT led the book, up 5.0% as gold caught a bid, and MSTR added 2.8%, NVDA 2.5%, URA 2.3% and ETN 2.2%. TMF and INDA firmed modestly. The lone soft spots were XLE, off 0.5%, and PPA, down 0.8%. That is not oil reversing: crude held its war premium near $75, so XLE was simply consolidating after Wednesday's 4% pop rather than giving the move back.
No trades. This is the balance the book is built for. XLE and URA carry the energy and commodity hedge, NUGT is our gold ballast, ETN and PPA anchor the infrastructure and defense core, and NVDA keeps us tied to the AI build-out. Wednesday the energy sleeve cushioned the geopolitical hit; today the growth side led the recovery. That two-way behavior is the point of the spread. Holding the full slate.
