▲ Current month through today. YTD from Jan 22, 2026 entry.
Safe Growth eased 1.2% to $1,711 a unit as a broad tech pullback pressured our AI-power and growth names. June MTD now stands 7.8% lower and the book sits 10.9% under our January 22 entry, a reminder that this has been a grinding month. The week's headline was the memory squeeze: Micron's blowout quarter, revenue more than quadrupling with guidance near 50 billion dollars, confirmed that the AI build-out is draining the world's memory and storage supply. That same scarcity is now an AI memory tax on consumers, with Apple lifting MacBook and iPad prices and posting its worst day in over a year, and Microsoft raising Xbox prices. Stocks wobbled on worries that AI data center costs are climbing fast.
The damage was orderly rather than sharp. The lone green came from NUGT, up 1.4% as gold miners caught a defensive bid, with PPA flat. The rest leaned lower: MSTR fell 3.4% as crypto cooled, ETN gave back 2.4% and NVDA slipped 1.9% on the AI-cost worries, while URA eased 2.0% and TMF dipped 1.1%. A risk-off session, but a measured one with no single name doing real harm.
No trades. The memory crunch is a feature of our thesis, not a bug. It is the clearest sign yet that demand for AI infrastructure, the electrical gear, power and chips our book is built around, is outrunning supply. ETN sits right in that data center build-out, NVDA needs every HBM chip Micron can make, and our energy and commodity sleeve hedges the rest. A rough June does not change a diversified plan. Staying put.
