▲ Current month through today. YTD from Jan 22, 2026 entry.
Safe Growth closed up +0.8% today at $1,865 per unit. The May jobs report hit before open, 172,000 payrolls against expectations of 85,000. That's not a number that gives the Fed room to cut, and the 10-year jumped to 4.54%. Broad market struggled on the rate shock but the portfolio's defensive mix held up.
Gold ran the show. NUGT added +3.1% to $158.84, catching the safe-haven flow as rate expectations shifted higher. NVDA managed a solid +1.8% at $218.68, one of the few tech names that held its bid on the day despite Broadcom's guidance weight on the chip sector.
PPA picked up +1.7% to $173.55 as defense held its bid. ETN was the soft spot at -0.6%, giving back a bit as rate pressure weighed on infrastructure. TMF added +0.6% and INDA gained +1.4% on India growth momentum. EWW shed 0.9% on peso weakness but nothing alarming there.
We're -2.8% since entry as of today. May closed at -3.5% and June is barely started. The diversification worked today when it needed to. Hold everything.
