📊 Market Narrative — Thursday, June 4, 2026
The market is threading a needle right now. The 10-year is near 4.47%, Fed rate hike bets are still live, and WTI is hanging near $91 on Hormuz uncertainty. If a formal reopening deal closes this week, that energy risk premium comes out fast - deflationary signal, potential pivot narrative, and a big shift in how the 30-year at 4.98% gets priced. Safe Growth fell to $1,851, down 2.2% on the session, 3.6% below our January 22 entry.
ETN and XLE provided some buffer. Eaton gained 0.9% to $421 - the power grid and datacenter buildout is its own story that doesn't move with oil, and the $500+ price target raises from Morgan Stanley and RBC are still anchoring sentiment. XLE added 0.8% as energy keeps a premium while Hormuz stays open but uncertain. NUGT was the worst performer, off 6.6%, as gold miners got hit harder than spot gold on the risk-off tone.
NVDA gave back 3.6% as Computex excitement fades into digestion mode - the Blackwell and Vera Rubin roadmap is intact, but the multiple stretched on Monday. MSTR fell 7.0% tracking Bitcoin's continued slide below $70K. URA dropped 6.0% with no uranium catalyst in sight. TMF bleeds another 1.1% as elevated rates stay the story. All holds.
